This is the second of two barber shops which I designed for Best Barber, co-founded by Boswell Scot. Both shops were renovated with budget and schedule in mind, under the careful creative direction of myself and Mr. Scot. Together, we implemented an overarching design concept which was centered around simplicity. These initial concepts helped us direct the renovation in a fast and efficient manner.
To accent the clean lines of the new spaces, we sourced vintage display cabinets for each store. This one element served in providing a visual contrast to our other work in the space, resulting in the spaces feeling more contemporary. Careful attention was made in the layout of each barber station. Maintenance and practicality were central to many of the choices of material and finish.
