Our team at Shadow Architect was commissioned to administer the Construction Administrative phase of this 1700 sqft penthouse loft renovation in the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan.

Architect of Record, Christian Nakarado of Slow Built Studio, was based in Europe for the duration of the construction. The project scope included the gut renovation of the existing duplex loft, and the construction of a new structural steel staircase. Our team took design direction from Slow Built Studio, and was responsible for implementing and generating construction detailing which aligned with the overall design concept.

Various special inspections were required by the city, as well as significant consideration of detailing to accommodate the existing structure and the building’s historically registered status.
